Scheduling restart of a Java Application

Hi Guys,

Is it possible to schedule a periodic task/job in SAP Netweaver Java to restart certain Java Applications?

Here is the manual way of doing it:

https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/49/d56e1cdf482221e10000000a42189d/frameset.htm

I am curious to know if I can automate the stop/start through some sort of task.

Regards,

Shuvendu

Hello Shuvendu,

The Java Scheduler is there for scheduling application jobs, however it is not able to start/stop/restart applications. For this I would recommend to create your own separate scheduler program, which restarts your application at the desired time.

In general about Java Scheduler:

Dear Shuvendu,

I deem what you are looking for is the Java Scheduler. In specific online tools such as NWA or Telnet you can define spicific jobs and tasks that can handle different applications based on a developed logic. You can create such method manually. I deem scheduled restart of an application is alsi included.

For more and how it can be executed see the online help:

Hello,

I do not think there is such a tool developed by SAP to start and stop applications at NWA level. All the answers you got is related to task scheduled on JAVA (jobs/tasks)
