Scanner Machine to SAP Integration

Hi All,

We have a client requirement where there should be an integration between the Barcode Scanner and SAP

Scenario

Whenever vehicle reaches the weighbridge, the barcode is being scanned automatically which is in the vehicle and the details corresponding to the vehicle needs to be fetched from SAP system.

The details could be the Vehicle number , Driver name etc.

Question

How does the scanner machine communicate with Cloud Integration? If an API endpoint is provided, would the machine be able to push the unique identifier to CPI for which the data needs to be fetched from SAP?

Or there is another way to achiveve this?

Anyone who has worked on similar integration, Kindly provide the inputs.

This is probably more a question for the scanner vendor than being related to SAP. Do you know which scanner devices will be used? Most of these devices run software with/without a screen in either online or offline mode, so the capabilities of 'how to integrate with SAP' depends on the scanner. But yes, if the scanner can call an API you can use SAP Integration Suite to fetch the required information.
