SAPinst has detected a pending installation

I uninstalled the Sneak Preview SAP WAS Developer Edition and then tried to install it again. However, when I start the SAPinst program, the following error message will always appear:

- SAPinst has detected a pending installation. In order to reliably continue this installation, SAPinst has to reboot the machine.

Then I reboot and run SAPinst again. However, the same message appears. I have removed the folder "Programs Files\SAPinst" and start again, the message still appears.

One thing was that I used the "Add or remove program" in Windows XP rather than use the SAPinst to uninstall it. I guess it may cause this problem.

How can I manually delete everthing so that I can re-install the WAS developer edition?

I have tried it and the error message still exists. Is there anything that SAPinst will detect for a pending installation?

Hi,

Try Uninstall option of SAPinst to get rid of error message first. I think, that process will check and

delete the unnecessary files.  So you can install it again.

Thanks

I have tried it by running the program "UNINSAP". However, the error message still exists. What else the SAPinst will check for a pending installation? Thx.

Hi Clarence,

please uninstall the software, reboot and delete the file c:\Program Files\sapinst. Afterwards you can start with a fresh installation.

Helo,

You need to check the registry for any related information. If so delete that also. Install procedure check this registry for the components.
