SAPinst HA defaults drive for ERS

Hi,

We are installing ERP 6.0 on clustered WS2008R2/SQL Server 2008R2. Following the install guide section for HA, we incorrectly installed ERS on C: drive and had to uninstall it. It should be installed on F: drive. Our infrastructure team said only Windows OS on the C: drive.

Now we are trying to re-install ERS. But SAPinst defaults to C: drive and it is greyed out so we can't change it to a different local drive.

We suspect that the uninstall did not remove everything, where should we look to clean up so SAPinst will allow us to change the enqueue replication server installation drive.

Thanks much,

Margie

Solved - we restarted both server nodes and tried SAPinst again, this time it allowed the ERS installation drive to be changed.

We had already tried command prompt "sapinst.exe SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME= Local server name" and that did not work before servers were restarted.

Thank you!

Hello,

You may still have an old SAPLOC or SAPMNT share.

SAPLOC pointing to for instance C:\usr\sap

Chech this from command prompt with

net use

Try to delete it with "net share ... /delete"

In 700 MSCS SAPLOC shares will exist only on physical nodes, where the

DI are installed.

In cluster group, where ASCS/SCS instance is running, SAPLOC share must

be deleted usually sapinst has done this.
