Hi
I'm in the middle of a version 16 to version 17 upgrade. I just wanted to dispel or confirm the following. The Application Software Vendor is saying that we should not put the database server on VMware (virtual machine) and we should keep using the physical machine.
This goes against what we are trying to achieve for the long run. (Have everything virtual). The reason the Software Vendor is saying this is because we allow "over provisioning of CPU's". Obviously I am aware of this potential issue since I am fully conversed with Microsoft SQL Server for many years now but I am assuming that SAP SQL Anywhere should run perfectly fine under VMWare unless you act stupidly.
Thanks AJ
