SAP Readiness Check for SAP Cloud ALM - Need to be run on Solution Manager?

Can you run ALM readiness check on an ECC system without Solution Manager? Basically do you need Solution Manager to run ALM readiness checks?

SAP Readiness Check for SAP Cloud ALM supports the analysis of SAP Solution Manager 7.2 systems.

If you are either considering or planning to move your SAP Solution Manager 7.2 system completely or partially to SAP Cloud ALM. As a result, you can analyze your existing SAP Solution Manager system with the SAP Readiness Check tool for SAP Cloud ALM, to help scope and plan your project.

It does not make sense to run it on an ECC system.
