Hallo Experts,
i have the following question regarding the implementation of the "Submitting Customer Invoices Using E-Mail (PDF/A-3)" Functionality in a Public Cloud System as part of Document and Reporting Compliance.
The goal is to be able to send an email including a PDF file, that has the XML file embedded similar to how its  descriped in this article for S/4HANA: Submitting Customer Invoices Using E-Mail (PDF/A-3) | SAP Help Portal.

Despite the Variety of block posts on the concepts of XRechnung and also ZUGFeRD, i was not able to find out if and how this goal can be implemented in a Public Cloud System in Germany.
What i have successfully implemented so far is the process of sending the customer the xml file in the XRechnung format via email (including the setup of peppol exchange etc.).
This currently results in one email with the invoice in a pdf format from output management and a second email send from the eDocument Cockpit with the xml.

As an additional information, our customer is based in germany.

I would greatly appreciate any help or ressources on how to accomplish this functionality of combining these two formats.

Best regards
Lukas

Dear Lukas,

Thank you for reaching out with your question regarding the implementation of the "Submitting Customer Invoices Using E-Mail (PDF/A-3)" functionality in a Public Cloud System as part of Document and Reporting Compliance.

As of now, embedding an XML file into a PDF (PDF/A-3) is not possible in the S/4 HANA Cloud (Public Cloud) environment. This functionality is currently available only in the S/4 HANA Private Cloud.

In the S/4 HANA Cloud (Public Cloud), the process you have described—sending the customer the XML file in the XRechnung format via email and a separate email with the invoice in PDF format—is the only available method.

We understand that this may not fully meet your requirements, but unfortunately, the capability to embed XML into a PDF/A-3 is not supported in the Public Cloud version at this time.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, to identify any potential workaround for your case, please feel free to reach out to component CA-GTF-CSC-EDO-DE.

Best regards,

Uwe
