SAP + OpenText for ABAPers

Hello Folks,

I had bought and completed a course named " OpenText Extended Enterprise Content Management " in UDEMY.

It is 4 hour online course and there is no mention of SAP or ABAP in the entire course.

There is one more course called SAP Vendor Invoice Management(VIM) by OpenText which I think is for Functional Consultants ( MM ).

I am an experienced ABAP Consultant and would like to know what would be the appropriate course for ABAPers when it comes to OpenText.

And also what is xECM ? Is it also related to OpenText ?

Kindly share your expertise in this area.

Thanks,
K.Kiran

Hi

For ABAP consultants interested in OpenText, consider the following:

1.Relevant Course: Look for courses specifically focused on integrating OpenText solutions with SAP, particularly those that cover development aspects or technical integration.

2.SAP VIM Course: The SAP Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) course is indeed more suited for functional consultants, but it can provide valuable context for how ABAP developers might work with VIM in projects.

3.xECM: Extended Enterprise Content Management (xECM) is related to OpenText. It integrates content management directly within SAP applications, streamlining processes and enhancing document handling.

4.Best Practices: Consider seeking resources or training that focus on OpenText API usage or custom development within the OpenText framework, as this would align well with your ABAP skills.

By focusing on integration and technical courses related to OpenText and SAP, you'll gain valuable knowledge applicable to your ABAP expertise.
