Hello Experts,

When we change any parameter in RZ10,we need to take restart of SAP server for reflect its effect.

My question is why do we need to take restart of the application server for reflecting effect.

I wanted to know about the back end process for this .?

Hello Junaid,

What tool are You using for the parameter change?
If it is an offline tool like Configtool or Telnet, the changes only take effect after restarting the instance or cluster depending on what level You made the changes.

If it is an on-line tool (NWA) the changes takes effect immediately.

If You are modifying profiles, You will need to restart the sapstartsrv service, in this case the regular restart won't validate the changes You made.
