SAP MDG TO S4 REPLICATION FOR PAST/FUTURE EDITION

Hello Experts,

We are trying to replicate the Cost Center and Cost Center Hierarchies from MDG to S4 System using SOA Manager. The Replication is working fine for current edition in MDG but failed for past and future editions.

Is there any way to replicate the data for past and future edition from MDG to S4 System using any custom enhancement or badi?

Thanks.

Hello Raghavendiran,

Could you please give some more insights on how exactly you have achieved this functionality.

where and how have you created the custom enhancement, to replicate future editions for cost center hierarchies.

if you can explain in more detailed way, it would be really helpful.

Thanks.

Hello Ragavendiran,

I am not totally sure, for which objects (Cost Center or Cost Center Hierarchies) you mean that the replication for current edition is fine, but not for past and future editions it failed.

Anyway, since Cost Centers are time-dependent in the target S4 and Cost Center Hierarchies are time independet there, I think the question should be splitted in two parts.

As Cost Center is time-dependent in the target S4 according to the note 2106479 always all time slices are automatically replicated. Of course, when for some time-slices there is an error during the replication those errors should be investigated and resolved.

The situation is different for the Cost Center Hierarchy. As the Cost Center Hierarchy is not time-dependent in the target S4, only one instance (i.e. one edition) of the hierarchy should be replicated. Since in MDG-F the Cost Center Hierarchy is time-dependent and can have several time-slices, to handle this situation the system replicate atuomatically the hierarchy from the latest edition, so you need to always ensure that the hierarchy is uptodate in the latest edition.

Of course, you could create a custom enhancement for replicating other edition for the hierarchy, but you need to be careful with that, to avoid possible inconsistencies in the target S4 with regard of the hierarchy.

Best regards,
Attila

Hello Attila,

Thank you for more insights about the objects and editions.

Yes as the hierarchies are time independent in S4, only the current edition has to be replicated.

As per your suggestion, we have created custom enhancement for replication of future edition hierarchy and differentiated with current hierarchy edition data.

Thanks
