SAP HANA SHINE - Links dont work for me

Hi,

I am just trying out the HANA SHINE material and the download of democontent and activation went on fine. I am having problems with the XS engine link.

I am using the hanacloud system in cloudshare and http://hanacloud:8000 says 'XSEngine is up and running'. But when I enter the link for the data generator(or any other link in the document) all the '/' get replaced with '%2F' and the actual link gets changed

Link entered: http://hanacloud:8000/sap/hana/democontent/epm/admin/ui/WebContent/admin.html

Link displyed in browser: http://hanacloud:8000/sap/hana/xs/formLogin/login.html?x-sap-origin-location=%2Fsap%2Fhana%2Fdemocon...

I am using the SYSTEM user and tried both ie and chrome browser. I know i am doing something wrong. Can someone help me with this?

Thank you very much Denys for the info. I will try it out once more after watching the video and let you know if it works. The trial system I am using is a SPS6 and I am sure I will hit a few road blocks, but I just want to make the links work.

The change in the URL is perfectly normal. Its just redirecting you to the formLogon Page.  If you have a error on the formLogon page you might well be experiencing the December activation date bug.  Please see this thread for more details:

I was hoping the SHINE would catch our eye . I am not getting any errors, just a blank page. I tried executing the code snippet but I dont see any fix. All entries for the slection 'INDEX' and 'html' (all XS objects) have activation date as Nov-25-2013.

You are getting a blank page on the form logon?  And it isn't the December bug.  Then you might not have the form logon configured correctly in your system. Check in xsengine.ini configuration - section application_container and make sure that libxsauthenticator is listed in the application_list.  BTW, what Revision is your system?

libxsauthenticator is listed in my application_container. I also tried the steps listed in the december bug note you posted.

I think the problem might be with authorization, but I am not sure. This is why,

i am getting a '404-page not found' error when I try the link http://hanacloud:8000/sap/hana/democontent , but if I try http://hanacloud:8000/sap/hana/democontent/epm I get the blank page

Using Chrome developer tool, I found that a 'sap-ui-core.js' file is missing in the location mentioned.

I downloaded the tgz files as mentioned in the document. Please let me know how I can overcome this error.

We are having the exact same issue.  The xsengine.ini is fine and the activation dates have been changed to Novemeber but the login still hangs with a blank page as well.

We're running revision 67.  Hopefully someone will know how to fix this, we'd really like to get this working.

You seem to be missing UI5 completely.  This should be loaded standard in any HANA System. You should contact your system admin/owner to find out why UI5 isn't installed.

I'm a little confused becuase there are two people involved in this thread.  Are you working on the same system?  I suggested the missing UI5 becuase of the errors shown in the screenshot from Benedict.  Elizabeth, do you have the same errors?

Sorry Thomas, I did not mean to create confusion.  I do not know Benedict.  When I read his comment saying " I am not getting any errors, just a blank page" and that he'd changed the activation dates, it sounded like the same issue we had been experiencing after importing the demo DU's yesterday.  In my excitement I didn't notice the javascript error he posted after that.

The really strange thing (about our system) is that when I tried it again this morning the login page comes up.  I get a 404 after entering my credentials but I'll open a new post if I can't resolve that. I'm not sure why it stopped displaying the blank page, I know that there wasn't anyone working during that night.

My apologies to Benedict, I did not mean to hijack his post.  As you said, it does appear he's got a different issue.

I am using the 30 day trial HANA system on cloud share. This is what I see when I drill down the imported content,

I tried downloading the SAPUI5_1.tgz. i am getting the following warning, but the download is successful.

Is there anyother way to load the UI5 files?

So UI5 is there.  Are you really sure it isn't the December bug?  It really seems like that's the case.

Yes but what about the UI5 libraries themselves.  If you just imported the DU or built a new system they would also be subject to the December bug.  Have you ran the update script on Active_objects table wide open as described in other threads?

Hi Nidhi,

Its not resolved yet. I tried reinstalling and everything but it does not improve anything. I was using the trial system and the 30 days validity is expired. Will create again with a different ID and see if it works.

Hi Krishna,

Install the UI5 files from the site SAP Development Tools for Eclipse - Juno Software Repository

If this doesn't work, try with SAP Development Tools for Eclipse - Kepler Software Repository

After installing the UI5 files, try Checking out the Shine package and then try opening Data Generator

Never mind Vivek. I followed Thomas s comment and could add UI5 to HANA Studio.

here are  the steps I followed:

Use File->Import. Choose Delivery Unit from SAP HANA Content. Choose your System. Chose the Server radio button under Select File. In the File, Dropdown List Box, choose the SAPUI5_1.tgz delivery Unit.  Press finish to import (this will take a few minutes as this is pretty large delivery unit).  This will add SAPUI5 to your HANA Server.

Its good that you did it, well while using those sites, you should change your Active Provider to Native
