SAP GUI options configuration file editable versus read only

I have my SAP GUI 8.00 where I can change the path to local configuration files (and also the file on Server), but my colleague has these fields read only after running a script given in a training session yesterday.

For me:

For my colleague (sorry, it's in French, it's SAP GUI 8.00 also; it was editable before the training session):

Do you know how it can become read-only?

I have read the SAP GUI 8.00 administration guide but I couldn't find any information.

Thanks.

Sandra

Is the affected user starting SAP Logon or SAP Logonpad?
SAP logon pad is read-only.

Or you can try the suggestions in note 3443623

SAP Logon.

3443623 - SAP GUI for Windows: Read-only options dialog - SAP for Me

This note corresponds to the chapter 9.1 of SAP GUI 8.00 administration guide, of course I have read directly 9.2, not 9.1 😞

Thank you very much!

NB: in my case, it doesn't fix the problem, all registry are identical, version is identical.

For most people, the solution is as per SAP Note or SAP GUI Administration Guide (SAP GUI 8.00 installed in 32 bits):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\SAP\General

  • AllOptionsReadOnly (REG_DWORD)
  • CurRegValReadOnlyActive (REG_DWORD)

In my installation, it was this (values absent):

In the read-only installation, it's the same!!! Is it possible that the program has changed directly the dialog?

Same version 32 bits / 8000.1.4.1161 than mine:

NB: if I change my settings as below, the mentioned fields are read-only:

@jude_bradley. In fact, it doesn't solve for me, I suspect that the script the other user has run has modified abruptly the dialog (I don't know if it's possible but it sounds like it is...)
