SAP Datasphere connection to SAP ARIBA (SAP RISE Subscription)

Good day SAP Datasphere Consultants,

What are the options to connect SAP Datasphere to SAP ARIBA and how does one identify the related tables/views etc? (The client has an SAP RISE subscription, if this helps in any way?)

Apparently, ARIBA is using API's to S/4HANA or SAP Hana db.

Does SAP Datasphere connect then to S/4HANA to import a table and data or how does it work?

Kind Regards,

Neels Faurie

Hello Neels,

You can use Generic Odata Connection for connecting to SAP Ariba.

Regarding your question on the "ARIBA is using API's to S/4HANA or SAP Hana db" and does it connect to the S/4 HANA automatically, so the answer is No.

The connection is to the source and here you source is Ariba. However, if your Ariba API is calling to S/4 then your API has to ensure that the requested data received from S/4 should get pass to the Datasphere using the Odata Connection.

Thanks & Best Regards

I was told that connecting to SAP Ariba from Datasphere using Generic OData Connection is not possible. This is because Ariba standard APIs do not use OData. If you know otherwise can you verify this claim with example or documentation please?
