SAP Data Services - Recovery Mode & Try Catch in the same Job

0 Kudos

Hi all,

is it possible to have the recovery mode and a try catch Function in the same job?

Example:
TRY -> WF_1 -> WF_2 -> WF_3 -> CATCH

When in WF_2 an error appears, it automatically jumps to the CATCH. Afterwards the job is falsly shown as completet successfully. So its not possible for me to start the job again in the recovery mode... Is there an possible to build the job in a way to use both functions?

Thanks and best regards,
Stefan

Hello Stefan

Check the topic "Using try/catch blocks with automatic recovery" in Designer Guide (pg 616).
I believe it will help with all your queries.

Hi Stefan - This can be handled by a custom script for each Workflow at the end you can write a script like success than “0” else “1”. If it "0" then continue the next flow else "0" pass it to variables. In Catch block call those variables based values and get email alerts.

For Recovery mode, while executing the job enable automatic recovery option from execution option it will take care if job abort in middle or failed in between the execution.

Hope this help!
