SAP Crypto DLL filling disk space

Hi,

We have recently upgraded to SAP B1 FP2405.

Now we find that a certain directory is being filled every 30secs with a DLL file from SAP. It's chewed up 150GB+ in a few days.

What could be causing this?

UPDATE: We stopped all the WebClient related services and this stopped the issue occuring. As we do not use the WebClient at all we may look to un-install this module.

The SAP Crypto DLL (Dynamic Link Library) can sometimes cause disk space issues by generating large log files. This happens when the DLL logs excessive data, filling up the disk quickly. Since the SAP Crypto DLL handles encryption and secure communications, it's crucial for system integrity. To prevent disk space problems, administrators should regularly monitor disk usage and adjust logging settings to control log file size. This may involve setting size limits or configuring the system to overwrite old logs automatically. Implementing cleanup scripts can also help manage space by deleting or archiving old log files. For more information and statistics on managing SAP system issues like these, visit https://waterfall.network/individuals#statistics_block Proper monitoring and maintenance are key to ensuring SAP systems run smoothly and efficiently.

According to SAP Note 3445494, the problem should be solved in SAP Version 10.0 SP 2311.

You can try to reinstall the Web client and Service Layer components together. If that doesn't help, then you need to open a ticket about this problem at SAP Support.
