Hi all,

did anyone set up a connection from SAP CPI to SAP backend AL11 or NFS share? If yes could you please share the way you achieved this.

David

You would need to setup an FTP or SFTP server to get access to the file system from CPI (or some type of web content server via HTTP).

Hi David

Let me expand a bit on why you need an SFTP or FTP server at the moment (or some sort of content server with an API, as pointed out by ryan.crosby2).

Unlike SAP Process Orchestration, Cloud Integration does not have a file adapter. In other words, it has no way to read a file sitting in a local filesystem. It does have SFTP and FTP sender adapters, and these adapters support Cloud Connector, which means that they can pick up files from a server on your local network (once Cloud Connector has been configured to allow access to that particular server, of course).

This will change in the future, when Edge Integration Cell is released. Edge Integration Cell is a locally installed runtime for SAP Integration Suite, that you can choose to deploy your iflows to. It is currently on the roadmap for a Q3 2023 release. The file adapter, however, will not be available until later. Currently, it is on the roadmap for a Q2 2024 release.

I hope that made things clearer.

Regards,

Morten

Hi hemantmathcg,

Basis will help in providing necessary access to AL11 folder, make sure you take full permissions for the User which is accessing this dir.

You need SFTP adapter to poll/pick files from S4 AL11 Directory.

we faced lot of issues while moving file to archive due to file/folder permissions, so take full access..

Thanks

Mastan

You have to enable SFTP service on the Al11 folders hosting system and use TCP/IP connectivity on the cloud connector for exposing the SFTP folders to CPI.

Hi Vijay,

could you help with steps to enable SFTP on AL11 folders?

This is usually basis team's task. They would know how to enable the SFTP service on the AL11/Fileserver host. Once they do that, you can use the user credentials to that server in your CPI comm. channels, after enabling the Cloud Connector connections.
