SAP BW Query Currency Conversion 0RTYPE2

Hi all,

we are on BW4HANA 2.0, and am trying to put a currency conversion into a BW query/report.

I have created a Currency Translation type (RSCUR) and added a variable for the Target Currency.

This works fine in the query and the target currency is driven by the selection prompt as expected.

The problem is when I try to also add a variable for the Exchange Rate Type.

I have done a lot of searching online and cannot find a solution which is why I am asking a question here.

I have created a mandatory variable on the InfoObject 0RTYPE2, as an input ready variable.

In RSCUR for the Exchange rate type from variable I can see and select the variable and it saves fine.

However, when I use add this to the currency conversion in the query, the query can be saved but gives the below error when I try to run the query;

  • Only parameters for InfoObject 0RTYPE are permitted when determining the target exchange rate for a currency translation.
  • ZCURR_BUDG is defined for ZVAR_0RTYPE2 however.
  • The entry for the variable should also be obligatory, as currency conversion is automatically switched off if this variable is not filled.

The reason why I used 0RTYPE2 and not 0RTYPE is because I cannot see the variables for 0RTYPE in RSCUR.

Also in RSCUR when I look at the F1 help on the Exchange Rate Variable field, it says;

Exchange rate type from variable

  • Specify a variable here. When you use FI modules for quantity conversion, you have to create the variable for the 0RTYPE InfoObject.
  • Otherwise, you have to create the variable for the 0RTYPE2 InfoObject.

I am very confused on what to use here, as I mentioned I cannot see the 0RTYPE variables and as can see the 0RTYPE2 variables I am using that.

And am wondering is the issue due to the way the variables have been created, I have tried creating the 0RTYPE2 variables as;

  • Characteristic Value / Manual Input / Single Value / Input Ready / Mandatory with initial
  • Characteristic Value / Manual Input / Single Value / Input Ready / Mandatory without initial
  • Characteristic Value / Manual Input / Single Value / Input Ready / Optional

Nothing seems to work, any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Shane.

Hi all,

just confirming that the SAP Note 3006889 fixed this issue for me and it is now working as expected.
