Hello guy. Currently we are in the middle of upgrading our client SAP BO 4.0 SP 4 to SP 7. After the patch installation (successfull without any errors), it seems that the SIA keep stuck on "Starting" state and when we look into task manager, we cannot find CMS in there. So, any of you guys have encounter this kind of issue and a solution would be great.

This issue has been fixed by uninstalling the patch and reinstall it back.

Hi Zaim ,

Please help with the below details:

1. what is the server operating system?

2. If windows do you see any system application in event viewer while starting the SIA

3. Check if the default port of SIA is in use (port number 6410)

4. Try creating new SIA with new name with default servers and stop the existing SIA and see if you face the same issue

Thanks,

Hi sneha,

1. Windows Server 2008 R2

2. I'm not in front of the server atm, but i'll check the event viewer for an error message.

3. I have confirmed that the SIA port not in use

4. The problem is that we cant even access CMS.

To clarify a few things, here is the step on what actually happen.

1. The server with SAP BO 4.0 SP 4 are working fine

2. Apply patch to SP 7

3. Installation done, reboot required

4. After reboot, the SIA stuck at "Starting", cant be stopped or restarted (The option is greyed out)

5. Try to repair install, but cannot connect to CMS because the server is down.

Hope that clarifies a few things.

Cheers,

You can try to create an SIA with a temporary CMS.

Also few findings could be made with help of install logs, to know whether there was any kind of update failure to occur or else error messages. Additionally, there should be some cms logs available. Look forward for these which might give us some better insights.
