SAP BO 3.1 mail send issue with McAfee

Dear all,

we are using SAP BO 3.1 SP7 for reporting an LIMS system. I moved the application to a new server (WINDOWS 2008 R2) and we notice that the system cannot send mails from scheduled reports.

Error Message:

server error. [Fehler beim Initialisieren von SMTP-Server. Rückgabecode: [Fehler beim Öffnen von TCP.]. Ursache: [smtpint.clariant.com :25].]: [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]

I test like described in http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-44785 and I cannot connect to SMTP on port 25.

This happend because port 25 on the server was blocked by McAfee. To release this, I need the process/program which send the mail in the BO environment. As the settings for the old system are unkown and I am not familiar with the BO core processes, I need a littel help to identify the send program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First you would need to test email using telnet from server machine.

Besides above document, you can also use steps from

http://exchange.mvps.org/smtp_frames.htm

If you are not able to perform steps these steps, please contact your network admin for the same.

Then you need to configure the Destination server and job servers. More details in the admin guide:

You can use assign port numbers manually to these servers and allow them bidirectionally from firewall. Refer to page no.285 for steps.
