SAP BI 4.1 Compatibilty with BW 7.5

Hi All

I am having difficulty in finding any information on the support of BW 7.5 on SAP HANA with SAP BI 4.1 or 4.2

All the PAMs only go upto BW 7.4 as a supported stack with BI 4.1 and BI 4.2

There are a number of slides floating around which insinuate that BI 4.2 is compatible, but there is no official support statement.

Please can anyone help or point me in the right direction to understand if this stack of BI 4.1 and BW 7.5 on SAP HANA is supported ?

Hi,

Discussions are still ongoing as to which BI4.2 SP  will support BW 7.5

i would hold this kind of BW upgrade projects until Q3 until we know more re: BI 4.2 SP3 PAM .

I had a look at the above link, to see which codelines are openly maintained on 4.1

Just so i understand better, are you effectively asking - Will the forthcoming BI 4.1 SP08  support BW7.5 ?  

any particular SP of BW7.5 ?

Question 1: Will there be support for BI4.1 on BW7.5 (or only BI4.2)?

Question 2: From what SP level of BI4.1 will BW7.5 be supported?

If answer to question 1 is "yes" and the answer to question 2 is "SPx" then it's just a matter of fine-tuning the answer if it's BI4.1 SPx for BW7.5 SPx?

Question 1 is critical, question 2 is important.

After knowing of BI 4.1 SP6 will support BW 7.5 (SP1/SP2/SP3 or will we require an upgrade to BI 4.1 SPx or 4.2 SPx

I presume that 7.5 is a significant change and that the version of say BICs will be different to that on BW 7.4 hence why the PAM shows no support at present please?

    The current version of BI 4.1 w/ SP7 DOES NOT support BW 7.5, maybe SP9 or later.  At this point no confirmation from SAP Product team.

One of the biggest change we are waiting for in BI 4.2 w/SP3 is the support for parallel queries with BICS / OLAP datasources.  The current BI 4.2 w/ SP1 only supports parallel queries for relational databases only.

I can confirm now that BI4.2 SP2 will support BW 7.5

this has been signed off now, and should appear in the GA PAM.
