Runtime error while loading Technical Content

Hi

We are experiencing runtime errors while executing the Technical Content process-chains: System Master Data (0TCT_MD_S_FULL_P01) and Content Master Data (0TCT_MD_C_FULL_P01). The process-chains execute without visible problems (everything turns green) but 4 runtime errors are registered in the system log for the following Info Packages:

0PAK_43Z7A374BFG5M3B3LJGYA7LZI

0PAK_43Z79M4M6J7G8036MQ9NXUGPA

0PAK_43Z7A12B1TF2FTWLZ6TJHNYTQ

0PAK_43Z79HUZNB59VHA7E0YUCR6DQ

The error messages looks like this (translated from Swedish):

Short text of error message: Process LOADING 0PAK_43Z79HUZNB59VHA7E0YUCR6DQ has no successor for alternative 00 Long text of error message: Technical information about the message: Message class....... "RSPC" Number.............. 114 Variable 1.......... "LOADING" Variable 2.......... "0PAK_43Z79HUZNB59VHA7E0YUCR6DQ" Variable 3.......... "43CUCSYJQ1IUJ5KKG5FY66D4V" Variable 4.......... 00

To fix the problem we added a u2018dummyu2019 AND (with no succeeding process-variant) after the 2 IP in 0TCT_MD_S_FULL_P01 and we also linked the other two IP in 0TCT_MD_C_FULL_P01 to the existing AND in that process chain. And suddenly the runtime errors are gone! It makes no sense!

We havenu2019t activated the latest version of the Technical Content but that should not matter in this case. Anyone whou2019s got an idea on how to get rid of the errors without having a dummy AND in the process-chain?

Hi

We tried to run checks on the chains but they all turned green so that gave us no clue. We did however suspect some kind of update or versioning problem so we tried to delete the u2018dummyu2019 AND to se if the runtime errors came back but they did not. So the problem is solved but the origin remains a mystery. Anyway, now we have to see if the solution is transportable to the other environments, weu2019ll return to let you know the exciting ending of this sad story / Mats

Well...did you check if the errors appears on all the systems it could be an error in the object sometimes i ve seen that the process chains do not save its metadata completely rigth, like some part of the object would not being saved properly....sometimes ir is correct with some change and save again...obviously if the object has some internal errors its transporte with errors...if you do not have errors in DEV now ...if transport with overwrite you should not have problems in other systems....

We are waiting the next chapter of this interesting story....

Hi,

do any errors appear when you run a check on the process chain? Did you remove any successors to these infopackages in the past? Sounds like there are some bad links remaining. Try to find them in the expert mode view of the process chain maintenance. Try to remove and add the IPs again to the chain, this could fix the issue.

Hi

We ran the IP standalone (without running the whole process-chain) and they executed without and short dumps.
