Review the software and hardware requirements for Business Explorer.

for 7.40: SAP Note 1995532 - BI 7.x tools in 740 - HW\SW requirements

- latest patches: SAP Note 2118888- Business explorer patches

for 7.30: SAP Note 1652769 - 730 GUI DVD - BEx tools - HW\SW requirements

- latest patches: SAP Note 1987302 - Business Explorer patches

Regarding your question, only Ms office 32 bits is supported.

Hello

Narshimhan Krishan,

Generally SAP GUI 730 installation (>1.38 GB file) includes many more things along with GUI 730, installs Bex Analyser/Bex Designer/Report Designer/Web Application Designer  also.

after GUI successful installation i configured my server and i can use user id & Password for sap login, but it was strange there was no

Bex Analyser

Bex Designer

Report Designer

Web Application Designer

My system configuration was i3 Processor, 2GB Ram, Windows 7 professional (with all the drivers), MS Office 2003 etc, i tried with MS Office 2007 also.

after R&D i found the reason for this problem, sharing with you.

For installation Bex items along with SAP GUI 730 you need minimum:

(GUI itself is a 32 bit (x86) can be install in both 32 bit as well as 64 bit OS/Office versions, as your system hardware configuration &supports)

1) Systems having at least 512 mb RAM.

2) Pentium Processor (x64, x86)

3) .Net Frame work 2.0 ( .exe from Microsoft site install 2.0 and 3.0 as well)

4) JRE (Java Run-time Environment) specific to your system needs and the version available.

5) MS Office 2013 dont support GUI 730, better use MS Office 2010 and MS Office 2007 with service pack 1/2.

6) doubleClick sapall.exe from your installation file &choose the check boxes against Bex and others.

Hope it will solve your problems and you can enjoy SAP-Bex functionality.

GUI730 with BI ADDIN 800 works very well under MS OFFICE 2013 ... 32 bits !!! 64 bits is not supported. It's well documented by SAP.

Hello,

You need BI ADDIN 7.3 patch 401 on MS OFFICE 2013 32 bits. It works well.

Have a nice day.

Hi, does the BI ADDIN 7.3 patch work on MS Office 2013 64 bits or only 32?

thanks

Hola Caio,

It only works on 32 bits.

If you try it on 64 bits, Excel will ask you to recompile the BiAddin and it's impossible.

Au revoir,

Guy

Dear Narasimhan,

Are you using 64 bit Microsoft Office, If yes, please note that 64 bit Office is not supported.

Refer to Note 1652769 - 730 GUI DVD1 - BI tools - HW\SW requirements
