Hi all,
--Can someone please tell me why I not need to setup in RSA5 when I load CO-PA data from R/3 to BW? Is it because I don't use extractors to load data like Logistic data?
--When do I need to setup RSA5 to load data? When don't I need to setup RSA5 to load data? Please give examples. Any help will be appreciate. Thank you.
Hi John,
No you dont need to activate the datasource if it is already active.Go to RSA6. It has all the active version of the datasources. If you find it there you are ready to go, if not go to RSA5 and activate it !
Hope it helps !
Cheers

Hi!
what extaly do you mean by setup?
1) We use RSA5 to transfer the standard business content to active version. in other words we are simply activating the business content datasources in RSA5 and then maintian them in RSA6. Even in case of COPA we use RSA5 to activate some standard text extractors. but other than the text content there are not many datasources available for COPA extraction because the underlying datasturctures for profitablity analysis is very specific for each company and needs a bit of customizing.
2) We use RSA5 to transport the standard extractors datasources in to active version and after that we use RSA6 to processing or working with those activated datasources. what do you mean by setup? we dont do any setup in RSA5 we just select a datasource if we thing that fits our requirements and just press transfer to transfer them to active version simmilar to installing the business content in BW.
hope it helps

Hi Ashwin,
One more question: do I need to make it 'active' again when I use the business content datasource if someone made it 'active' before? For example, 2LIS_11_VAITM in SD; where can I check if it is 'active' already? Do I need to make it 'active' again when I use it if someone made it 'active' before? Thank you very much for sharing your experience.
