Dear all,
I'm testing the useability of our BW system with new Windows 7 and SAP GUI version 7.2.
The only way of launching BEx analyzer is via RRMX or portal (using single sign-on) but this is not working. Once i trigger RRMX, Excel 2007 is opened (with Business Explorer Add-In) but when i try to open a query it opens the SAP Logon! The BEx version used is still the 3.5 (but we are in SAP BI 7.01).
Does anyone faced this problem? Do you know if there are specific settings for using SSO or RRMX with GUI 7.2/WINN 7?
Thanks for your help.
Best Regards,
Nuno
Hello-
I want to preface this message with, I am not a developer, but an IT professional trying to deploy SAP 7.20 on Windows 2008 Server R2 (64 bit), Office 2010 (32 bit), via Citrix XenApp. Hereu2019s my issue. The company uses the Enterprise Portal to launch SAP and all of its components. If you launch any of the SAP components devoid of the portal, everything works as expected. If you launch them via the Enterprise Portal, nothing works as expected. Some components may launch, but do not operate properly. If you launch SAP GUI from the portal link, and do a Help, about, system information, it shows Windows 2000. From the same server, if you launch the SAPLOGON.EXE by itself, help, about, system info, it shows Windows 2008. I dont understand where its pulling this. One component in question is BEx Analyzer/Reporter. If you launch it by itself, works fine. OR, if you launch and use the RRMX command, works fine. If you launch it via the portal (without RRMX cmd), comes up with an error stating u201CThe Operating System is not configured to run this applicationu201D. This is a very generic error, and since I am not a SAP developer, its like finding a needle in a haystack. All the issues seem to be the SAP Enterprise Portal and I am out of ideas. I appreciate any assistance you can provide.
Thanks,
Kyle

We had the same issue and what solved it for us was applying a BW 350 for 720 GUI patch, in particular bw350gui720_5-20006857 though I think any level of the the BW350gui720 patch would solve the problem.

Hi Guys,
I have this issue also - I have used the above gui version and BW updates but still this does not work as such!
I donu2019t have the reg key values that are mentioned above but works internally but no over direct access?
We have windows 7 units connecting via a saprouter to a message server inturn connecting them to the application box.
I have tried to create the key manually but still no joy.
If go directly to the application server all works fine!
If I go via the saprouter and then to the application server u2013 again all works fine!
the error in the log sees an IP address ind=stead of the FQDN name
The fqdn name of the saprouter and then an IP address????? However this should be a FQDN name
So the error is something like /H/mysaprouter.co.uk/H/then the IP of application server
/H/mysaprouter.co.uk/H/10.10.10.2
There are no errors in the saprouter log file and nothing that I can see via the cisco firewall???
I can telent on all portsu20263225, 3205 3005
However please also note that this is not an issue when connecting internally via the saprouter, only an issue with Direct access (TCPIPv6)!
Io any of you have any ideas why this would return an IP address instead of FQDN name via the sap router.
This was working a few week oku2026u2026but something has changed and no one know what!
I would suggest firewall issues but I do get teh above errors when trying to connect either via exel or trying to connect backwords via the tc RRMX
Hello,
Yes, there are some problems with SAPGUI and Business Explorer Version 7.20
First, donwload the latest patches and install on your workstation.
After that, implement these three notes below in order to fix the issue:
1435326, 1471630 and 1499568
This should solve the issue.
Thanks
Edward

Hello Edward,
We have finally implemented the 3 OSS notes you recommended but now i'm not even capable of opening Excel when running transaction RRMX.
We receive an error message saying: "This file does not have a program associated....." and the file he is trying to access is RRMX.3xbex. After this the session closes.
I opened this file in the SAP folder and there is a message there saying: "Analyzer requires version 40. Version && is installed."
Is this related with the front end version? We currentlly have SAP GUI 7.20 Pach 100.
Let me know something.
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Nuno
