RHEL 8.10 UPGRADE REQUIRED PROCESS

Our current Solution manager Prod system is on RHEL 7.9 and HANA 2.0 SPS03

Requirement: Unix Team is asking to upgrade OS to RHEL 8.10

Query:

For upgrading OS to RHEL 8.10 , which option we need to follow:

1. upgrade HANA database first to HANA 2.0 SPS05 then upgrade RHEL to 8.10 and finally upgrade HANA 2.0 SPS07
2. Upgrade RHEL to 8.10 and directly upgrading HANA from SPS03 to SPS07 

Kindly check and suggest out of above 2 options, which option we should select.

According to SAP note 2235581, only HANA 2.0 SP05 is supported on RHEL 7.

Because you will jump RHEL releases, the best option is to create a new machine with the RHEL 8.10, install SAP HANA, then do a backup/restore and finally install the Application Servers with the SWPM tool.
