RFC Solmandiag Error

Former Member

Hi All

I have successfully installed Solution Manager 4.0.

I have carried out the basic settings in SPRO, including the step "Create RFC for Solution Manager Diagnostics", which states the following:

Create an RFC connection with the following values:

RFC Destination = SOLMANDIAG

Connection type = T

Description = Solution Manager Diagnostics

In the Technical Settings tab:

Activity type = Registered server program

Registered server program = WEBADMIN

External program call type = Gateway default value

CPIC Timeout = Gateway default value

I am now trying to configure the alerting scenario, in particular the step "Data Transfer Solution Manager - Solution Manager Diagnostics".

Looking at help.sap.com it states to use transaction SMDIAG_WIZARD to config this, but when I try the error "Error sending data to Solution Manager Diagnostics" occurs.

I checked my solmandiag RFC, and the connection test fails with the error:

ERROR: program WEBADMIN not registered.

Does anybody please know where to register this program.

Thanks

Sam

I having a problem with the SMD setup wizard when it tries to create SOLMANDIAG and WEBADMIN SM59 connections, it fails when trying to set the Unicode flag.

This is because I have not converted my SM system to Unicode.

Would someone please give me the SM59 connection information for these two RFC destinations so I can create manually?

Thanks,

Greg

Hi Pascal

Thanks you so much for the reponse. It is really appreciated.

When I goto http://<servername>:portnumber/sdm I get the error "The requested resource does not exist."

However, when I goto

http://<servername>:portnumber or

http://<servername>:portnumber/sld

these work fine.

I did a grep from the OS for sdm, and there is the following process running:

/usr/sap/SMP/DVEBMGS01/exe/jlaunch pf=/usr/sap/SMP/SY

S/profile/SMP_DVEBMGS01_chu22t1 -DSAPINFO=SMP_01_sdm -nodeId=2 -file=/usr/

Do you know why http://<servername>:portnumber/sdm would give me the error

"The requested resource does not exist."

Thanks again

Sam

Hi Sam,

sorry, it's my fault! it should be smd (stands for solution manager diagnostics) and not sdm...

Hi Sam,

you can create the WEBADMIN destination with the SMD setup wizard which you can access through your browser: http://servername:j2eeport/smd
