hi Harish,

i think you have to create first restricted key figure ('new selection'), right click 'keyfigures' and 'new selection', then choose the basic keyfigure use in formula and restrict with fiscal period, then create 'new formula' using this new created restricted key figure.

for 'calculated keyfigure' that exist in infocube level (in left panel-top), you can directly use for restriction (rkf from ckf).

hope this helps.

Hi A.H.P.

First i need to create a Restricted key figure which i want to use in the Formula

am i right once its created i can use that in the calculated keyfigure or formula keyfigure.

am i right but here i am using two key figures in the formula so do i need too create two restricted key figures and then

create the formula using them.

F is for Formula key figure- C.C.

thanks and regards

yes u r in rght direction.

i didnt get u ???????u can two kfs in formula without any problem...

how many restrictions u r having on KF?if u r having two different restrictions ,and both are different then u have to go with two restricted keyfigures..then use both restricted kfs in formula...

what are u trying to achieve exactly?

hi Harish,

you are right, if it's possible (no percentage from total result etc), i do strongly suggest you to create it as 'calculated keyfigure' and 'restricted keyfigure',

'global' used (not 'new formula' and 'new selection' which's recognized local),

with this you can create the 'calculated keyfigure' first (from 2 basic keyfigure), then create restricted keyfigure from this ckf. (instead of create one rkf by one then ckf).

these keyfigures then also can be used repeatedly in other reports from the same infoproviders.

please follow the links i provided in previous reply. hope this helps.

Hi A.H.P.

i am sorry for confusion

Actually i have a formula key figure example A and in this A i am using some keyfigures B and C like B-C so

i want to restrict this A to Fiscal period....so as per my understanding do i first need to

make B and C as Restricted and then use them in A and then automatically A will be restricted by Fiscal period

am i right.

thanks a lot for your help

hi Harish,

yes, with 'formula' and 'selection' you have to restrict first b and c, that's why i do suggest whenever possible do it with ckf and rkf (from left panel), since we can have rkf from ckf and vice versa.

hope this helps.
