Resource Description Property in File System Repository

Hi Experts,

I have a File System Repository that contains files with cryptic file-names. For displaying them in portal I'd like to add descriptions to those files. I searched in SDN and found out that description property is not supported for File System Repositorys. Is that really true?

So what could be an alternative if I have an existing file system directory and I want to add description property.

Hi Manuel,

the alternative is to integrate the fileshare via a CM repository in FSDB mode, where folders and documents are stored in the file system, but metadata is stored in the database.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I've already tried CM Repository in dbfs-mode and it didn't work for me becouse existing content wasn't displayed. So I thought with fsdb it would be the same. But of course it isn't because also folders are stored in fs.
