Report on CMC configuration

Hi guys ...

This might be a very simple, stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer to it.

A customer of ours is trying to have a proper overview of the complete configuration done through the CMC. So, for example, they would like to see, preferably in a report, which is the application access that users have, which are the folders and objects users have access to, etc.

Is this typically something you need to do through the BO XI auditing universe ?

If anyone can shed some light on this, I would really appreciate it !

Kind regards,

Bruno.

Hi Bruno,

Technically speaking, yes this can be achieved. This can be done by quering against the derived InfoObject object properties. The InfoObject contains all properties used to describe a BusinessObjects Enterprise object that is stored on the CMS, such as a report, instance, server, or user.

For example, you may run the following SQL in Query Builder tool to find a specific server name, it's current state -

select SI_FRIENDLY_NAME, SI_SERVER_IS_ALIVE, SI_DISABLED from CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS where SI_KIND='Server'

Summary, may use Enterprise Java or .NET SDK to create application specific to the desired functionality.

Hope this helps.
