Replicate zcostelement hierarchy datasource from Prd to QA

Hi All,

I have a costelement hierarchy which was manually created in BW PRD system and I want to replicate the datasource associated with this hierarchy in BW QAS . As the hierarchy is too long and complex, I want to avoid the manual upload of hierarchy thru flat file

I need all the steps required to replicate only the datasource that is attached to zcostelement hierarchy and not all datasources from BWPRD.

Once I have the datasource , I hope all I need to do is create the Infopackage and schedule the load.

Please give me all the steps.

In Production follow these steps:

1. Create your hierarchy for the specific infoobject.

2. Create an export DataSource for this InfoObject.

The system where you create the hierarchy (Production ur case) and the system where you want to use the hierarchy (QA) have to be linked via RFC connection.

In QA follow these steps:

1. Replicate the DataSource from the production system.

2. Link the DataSource to the InfoSource of the InfoObject that includes the hierarchies

3. Create an InfoPackage for the InfoObject that includes the hierarchy.If you have more than one InfoObject, you must create an InfoPackage for each one.

4. Load the InfoObject from the production system into the QA system with the same process as for loading data.

PS - Its always reverse scenarion usually we develop in development and want that to be in Production ,if FLAT-FILES is not the one someone wants it.

Hi chetan,

The RFC connection is established between PRD and QA systems.

In QA follow these steps:

1. Replicate the DataSource from the production system.

I went to the source system BWP010 >context menu>replicate datasources.

Also how to replicate selective datasource

Then where to find the datasource which was replicated

What do you mean by linking the datasource to the infosource of the infoobject?

Kindly give me navigational steps to link the DS to the Infosource.

The hierarchy somehow got deleted in BWQ system, was available in BWP.

You have to open up the system for making changes before you do anything as usually this is done from DEV to QA or PROD systems and yours is reverse scenario.

anyways you have to replicate the generated 8 *datasource in datamart of the QA system and then check for 8 * datasources after that.

In the infosource of QA asign the 8*datasource and then load the IP
