Regarding Time Zone

Hello,

My SAC backend data gives me the time stamp in EST and it reflects the same in my SAC Story. Now I want it to be as per user's time zone, which should be dynamic assuming this story is accessed by users from different time zones. Is that possible?

Not sure what data you are referring to as 'SAC backend data'. Usually timestamp is in UTC format, when it's displayed to user it's shown with timezone user is using from the PC. Maybe you can try to change timezone from your PC and check if the timestamp displayed is changed accordingly in your SAC story.

Thanks for your response William. The SAC has a tunnel connection to BW. In the BW layer I can see the timestamp stored in the table in EST format. The BW layer is in EST time zone. Now when I access it via SAC I still see it in EST even though I come out of VPN and even on my mobile it shows in EST but not in my local time zone.

William you are correct. Usually the timestamp is in UTC format. My profile in BW is personalized to EST time zone and so I was seeing in EST.I personalized my profile in BW to my local time zone and I can see it is reflecting the same in SAC.

Is there any way I can personalize my timezone in SAC itself? I did with out success. In my SAC profile settings I could not find an option to personalize timezone.

dharma_ndt you can follow below step to chagne your time zone. Though it may not help with your BW DS setup (check my reply below)

Click on Edit Profile and Change Password.

Hello dharma_ndt,

Your SAC profile setting let you adjust system time according to your selection. Auto conversion of time stamp field based on user profile parameter is supported on HANA DS. Though I don't think this is support for BW data sources yet.

Thanks for the update. I added my comments above. Though my BW backend is HANA,I am connecting SAC to BW App layer via tunnel connection.

As you are consuming via BW app layer, auto adjustment of timestamps are not available in SAC. Only HANA based DS are supported (specific version). Please check the link mentioned in above post.
