Regarding the ETL process using transactional data

Hi All,

I am student pursuing my Masters and I am specializing in Business Intelligence.

I have few doubts regarding the ETL process in SAP.

I am using transactional data.

What if I made a mistake during loading? What if I loaded the same transaction data twice? Do I delete, reload or is there a simple way to resolved the issue?

Thanks,

Sudhanwa

Hi,

If u loaded the same transaction

With in same request : if it is cube it will get additive

If it is ods it will get overwrite

Not in the same request: No duplicates.

If u want u can delete otherwise by using Error stock u can modify the data in PSA.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Sai.

Hi

You can easily delete the duplicate request from the cube/DSO (data is loaded request by request) so that you don't see duplicate data in reporting.

Data may be duplicated in case of Full load, when you use Delta loads it will only load the changes in data after the last data load was done so that you dont get duplicate data.

Hope this helps.
