Hi Vijay,

Partner functions are normally used in Message Control to distribute data via EDI to your Business Partner like SP:Sold to party etc...

Thanks & Regards,

Vanita.

Hi,

Agreed that the partner function signifies whom we are sending it to. The (sending it) would make sense, if we also maintain, where we are sending it to. Does it mean, that if we send a print output to a particular partner, the printer at the partner's side gets a print out whenever this output type is processed. Where is this setting maintained. I can agree in the case of EDI, the partner that it is going to is maintained as a partner profile in WE20. But what about smartforms and rest.

Regards,

Vijay

In partner function you mention whom you are going to send the details of the output.

Business partner are maintained in master data in he system.

A term, such as "sold-to party" or "payer", that

describes a person or organization with whom you do

business. In transactions, such as sales or service

orders, partner functions are carried out by business

partners that you have entered in the system.

The system includes predefined partner functions, and

you can also define your own in Customizing for Partner processing.

Partner functions in Sales and Distribution include:

o Sold-to party

o Ship-to party
