regarding data loading

dear friends,

i got some queries regarding data loading,

1. i am loading the data from LO Cockpit Purchasing Application. i am conducting delta load activities daily. one of the data packet(let us say for example data packet no 😎 got failed. how to rectify that and how to do the deltas asusual. please explain with an example.

2. if the delta load or initial load got failed at the source system level then what will be the solution. and what are the reasons for failure. please explain with one example.

3.if the delta load or initial load got failed at the bw level(psa level or transfer rule level) then what will be the solution. and what are the reasons for failure. please explain with one example.

4.if the delta load or initial load got failed at the bw level(update rule level) then what will be the solution. and what are the reasons for failure. please explain with one example.

i need solution for these queries very urgent.

please let me know.

Hi Hari,

1. If One of your Data Packet got failed, Generally with Missing messages.Expand the Data Packet node in the Details tab Check for the Message Update PSA with no errors.Then You can Update this Packet manually.

Before You Update Manually You need to Change the Status to red.To Update Manually right click on Data Packet->select manual Update.

2.If the Delta Load is failed in Source system level Just Delete the Red Request from the Data Target and Schedule the Info Package again you will get a Pop up window select the Repeat Request again.

3.If the Delta Load is failed in PSA level .

Expand Extraction node and Check for the Messages " Data Selection ended ".if Data Selection is ended you can Update from PSA. Other wise You have to go for Repeat Delta Option.

Hi Hari prasad,

when your delta got failed you need to make QM status as red and remove the request from datatargets and run the load again then it will prompt you repeat delta then say yes..then it will pick the your last failed delta, as you are specifying if that failed at datapackage 8. after you rectify your problem you can manually update that data package..suppose if your transactional load failed with SID value not found , you can load the master data for that seletion and you can push that data pakcage manually in the background(preferbly)..

if the data failed at the source system level there will be many reason for that like your infopackage scheduling, TRfc problem, RFC connections ,extraction problems then you have to analyze the source system , the possiblities might be there is no job, the job cancelled , job ran succesfuuly but no data arrived in psa . thhen you need to check for shortdumps(st22)check selction and seltion routines in your infopackage , check for your TRFC(sm58) in BW system for entries and erros,check for in source system connections in admin bench,check the right desitination are entered in both systems, check for not processed Idocs(BD87)in bothe systems(note555229),check that remote user has enough authorities for back ground job and extraction, see extraction job log(sm37) for error message(-> shortdump,syslog), extractor checker(rsa3),check entries in delta queue(rsa7) ,use simulation in monitor

u said that if the transaction load got failed with sid value not found at datapackage 8 then to load that master data for that seletion and you can push that data pakcage manually in the background(preferbly)..

u mean to say that for example if 5 records got failed in datapackage no 8 due to some sid value not found then to load the master data for that selection and to update the datapackage manually from psa. correct me if i am wrong.it is some what confusing, could u please explain me step by step.

i am getting one more doubt if sid got failed u said to load the master data for that selection, suppose if my master data is delta upload then how to handle that scenario.

second one u said that if the data load got failed for many reasons like infopackage scheduling, TRfc problem, RFC connections ,extraction problems . i am getting some what confused here can u explain me some what detail way like in a seperate steps.

for example

1. if the data load got failed due to some infopackage sheduling at the source system level then what will be the solution. and what are the steps.

2.if the data load got failed due to some extraction problems at the source system level then what will be the solution. and what are the steps.

please let me know some more clearly.

Hi hari,

check this topic that have been closed today:

About errors in Source System generally you need to process again the job, due to the fact that if error happens before commit nothing is saved.

About errors in BW you can follow what is described in previous topic. Errors can be related to poor resources (memory - CPU) or to ABAP error or to lock of tables to be read.
