Reg File System Repository

Hi,

I want to display the documents present on my local machine in SAP KM.

I am trying to achieve this using a File Repository Manager, but facing some problems.

Here is what I have done -

1. Created a directory on my local machine and shared it giving the folder full access.

2. Created a File Repository manager pointing to my windows machine and also the folder.

3. In http://help.sap.com, the third step is to create a System and then do a user mapping. I was not able to do this step, please let me know while creating a system, what is the System Template that I choose select ?

4. User Mapping - This will be done only after I create a System.

Pls let me know if I am going in the right direction or if I have missed anything.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Regards,

Vivek

PS - Points will be definitely rewarded.

Hi Vivek,

have you read http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f0/64b252473e9a479fcd275c79853620/frameset.htm ?!

If yes, I understand that you don't understand it, for it's more than irritating. I will try to translate...

2. From the portal content catalog, create a folder Portal Content - KMSystems (if not already there).

3. Use the secondary mouse button to click on this folder "KMSystems" and choose New - System.

4. Select "KM-Windows-System" and click on Next.

5. Enter an arbitrary system name and ID. Click Next. In the next screen, choose Finish.

6. Now choose Open the object for editing and click on OK.

7. On the next screen, choose Display: System Aliases.

8. Enter an alias for the system. Note that the alias has to tally with the system ID that you specified in the CM system landscape definition (default: "Microsoft_Windows_KM"). Click on Save and Close.

Now for this system you can set up user mappings.

Hi detlev,

Thanks for the help.I was atleast expecting a replly from you

Please let me know whatI have done is correct.

When try to craete a system by choosing New-System, I dont get a System templaye for "KM-Windows-System".

What I have done is that , I have created a new System from Par, selected "com.sap.km.cm.repository.manager" ans the system template and in the next screen I select "KMWindows_System".

I'll now try doing other configurations and get back to you if any problems.

Thanks,

Vivek

Hi Vivek,

> for "KM-Windows-System".

Then the way you went is right. You could also first create a system template out the PAR, name this "KM-Windows-System" and then create the system from "New System". But this is not a necessary step.

Hope it helps

Hi Vivek,

use a KM Navigation iView, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/b6/29892e91601940bb7a2cd673a1dff5/frameset.htm for details.

Hope it helps

PS: In all humility - my answers so far have only been "helpful"?! I think my first two answers have been the solution to your original post... And now you're asking a new question in the same thread... It's OK, but, c'mon, I really would appreciate if my help would be appreciated appropriately...
