Real User Monitoring in CALM operations. Monitor the right system

we have tried to set up The real User Monitoring, but we get No data, And I believe it is because the system monitored is our SAP BTP cloud foundry environment.

 

I want of course to monitor our S/4 production system.

I understand that I can select systems through System landscape settings but do not understand why this BTP system was set up initially, can I just change? what would that mean for other CALM operations? 

Appreciate all help here. Can I just change system to monitor by changing system Lanscape settings without it having any other implications?

Hi, wimsy, In the Operations use cases, such as Real User Monitoring, there is a Scope selection option to enable any service/system you want to monitor.  Each user can set the systems/services they want to monitor within each use case.  (Know that activating these components does affect your Fair Usage data allowance.-> see KBA 3499485 - How much does SAP Cloud ALM cost?)

Go to Real User Monitoring and click Scope.  Search for the S/4HANA system/service you want to monitor, check the box in front of the entry and click Apply. 

Click Configuration and ensure Data Collection is ON.

Thank you so much Paula. There was a filter that prevented me from seeing the full list of systems, I could only see the BTP. But now i have another question, I still get No data message, even if I have selected the correct Production system and activated it under configuration. I still do not get any data, do you know why?

Hi, wimsy, If you are still working with BTP Cloud Foundry and Real User Monitoring where "No Data" is being seen, be sure you have followed the setup steps for this service found at: https://support.sap.com/en/alm/sap-cloud-alm/operations/expert-portal/real-user-monitoring/run-detai.... If it's a different system/service, you can find system/service specific instructions at: https://support.sap.com/en/alm/sap-cloud-alm/operations/expert-portal/setup-managed-services.html > click the involved system/service link. (You might query for KBAs as we try to capture this type of problem to help users when we encounter a scenario/solution.) Else, I would advise logging a support case and providing full details with screen shots of the problem so we can review and advise. Best Regards, Paula
