Rajeev,

You have to handle it from application side, you cannot do anything from portal side.

based on the authorisations you can set the enabled property of UI element

Hi,

I am confused.. So its possible or not possible to give Read and Write to few users and Read only to few users for the Ivews created in Web dynpro.. whcih are exposing on EP?

Ivews are created in Web Dynpro using Back end Data base.. such as View and UPDATE options... I want to restrict few users to update and few users not to update..

Is it possible in EP?

Thanks

Hi,

Can you please point to any documentation or steps how to handle this in Web dynpro code? As there will be multiple users in EP who need read only access and the same where will be multiple users need full access.

Its really appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Rajeev,

Please create role/group for WD applciation which you want to assign read/read & write to the users. Access the role/group in WD application and restrict the access to UI Element properties.

Refer to below documents for protecting Access to the Web Dynpro Application Using UME Permissions.

Hi rajeev,

for giving permission to end users foolw the steps

1) Go to System Administration-> Permissions , here browse your folder and select iview or search for your iview

2) right click on that iview and " Open Permissions" Then permission Editor opens

3) check whether the user to whome you want to assign permissions available in the list , if not available place your name in assign New permissions and add that user to list

4) A drop drown box is available here, Select the opton which you want.

check this help link on permissions
