Recently I installed our SUP Development Server. Because the server is located in a data center I can only access it via a Remote Desktop Session.
That means I am not allowed to use unserved licenses
Therefore I downloaded and installed a SySam license server and generated a served license. This seem to work.
But after installing the updates for 2.1.3 I found another Sysam installation in the path
C:\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform\Servers\UnwiredServer\sysam-2.2
Should I use the updated version 2.2 of Sysam now? Is there any documentation how I can change the currently installed Windows service that uses Sysam 2.0 in order to make use of Sysam 2.2?
EDIT: I just saw that I also installed version 2.2 of Sysam before the upgrade. It only installs in the directory SYSAM-2_0 by default.
So the version thing seems ok for now.
Still strange is that the server status from lmtools shows the following error:
lmgrd is not running: Cannot connect to license server system.
The license server manager (lmgrd) has not been started yet,
the wrong port@host or license file is being used, or the
port or hostname in the license file has been changed.

P.S. From a customers perspective the whole licensing thing does not interest me at all. This is a good example how you can torture your paying customers with things that they don't need. I hope SUP will use a different solution to check the license in the future

Even better I cannot Install the SySAM server into a directory with "spaces in the name". Thus it cannot be installed in Program Files...
Welcome to pre 1995! At least it accepts filenames larger than 8 characters (I think). How can a billion dollar company stuff that up?
