Quick Poll

I am trying to set up a new page that contains a quick poll.

The process that I have followed is:

- Create a quick poll

- Start the Poll (status is now ongoing)

- Create a new page

- Add the quick poll iview to the page (as a copy of the original one found under Content Provided by SAP->End User Content->Standard Portal Users->iViews->com.sap.km.iviews->Quick Poll)

- Add the page to a workset

- Add the workset to a role

- Set the "campaign to be used" property of the iview under the role to the name of the poll

I can see the page OK, however I just get the message that "No quick poll is currently available"

I have searched for other posts on this, and most people seem to be not setting the campaign property, however I have done this, and it is still not working.

Any assistance would be much appreciated

Also, if anyone can point me to anywhere there is a help doc on this, it would be appreciated.

Hi Richard

The campaign is not the same as the name of the poll. During the creation of the poll we are specifing the campaign. That name has to be provided in the properties of the iview and not the name of the poll. This error comes if the campaign is not set correctly.

Hi Geogi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

That sounds like it could be my problem, however being very new to this, I am struggling to find the name of the campaign. How do I find the campaign name?

To create a poll, I go to Content Manager->Quick Poll Admin and click New

This brings up the view for creating a poll.

I can enter a name of the poll (I assume this is the name of the poll, and not the campaign?)

I can choose a type - poll or rating

there are then 7 tabs:

General, Image, Layout, Result Display, Participants, Schedule and Comment

I can't see anywhere that I can specify a campaign name.

I appear to be missing something very obvious here, so I apologise for my naivety, and appreciate your assistance.

Thanks

Hi Richard

In the Content Manager->Quick Poll Admin you will get a dropdown and a new campagin button at the top.

Here you create new campaign.

Below the name of the poll the campaign is there. click on new button and give a name(eg:mycamp) and create the poll with the new name(mycamp) selected in the dropdown menu of campaign. Assign the name 'mycamp' to the campaign property of the iview.

Hmmmmm.....I don't have the drop down or the new button at the top...

Any idea what roles I need in order for this to display?

Is there any other reason that this wouldn't display?

Thanks

Hi Geogi,

Thanks for that - from the screenshot I can see that you have a different set of tabs in your top level navigation - I was going to "Content Manager->Quick Poll Admin".

After looking at your screen shot, I can see that I actually need to have the "Content Management" tab, which then has a "Quick Poll Administration" tab under it. If I create a new poll from this tab, I have the option of choosing/creating a campain.

I had a look through and gave myself the "com.sapportals.km.km_admin" role and the "com.sapportals.km.content_manager" role which has given me the additional tab.

Thanks very much for your assistance on this - it is very much appreciated as this was causing me a lot of frustration as I know how simple it should be.

Regards

Richard
