Query views

Hi there!

I've created different views based on a query. I have a few questions regarding the use of views:

- How can i manage them (delete, modify, ...)?

- How can I access them? I've seen i can do it with tcode RSRT1, but i would like to have a link in my BEx Browser and execute it as a query on the IExplorer.

Thanks a lot,

Marta Aguilella

Hi Marta,

You can call up the views saved as global (and from there, deleting them and so on...) by choosing Open -> Saved Views in the BEx toolbar.

If you want to have them in your browser you have to save them as workbook (and from there use the function Go To inside to jump to the view...)

Hope it helps!

Bye,

Hello Roberto,

There is no way of avoiding the use of the BEx? (the Excel thing, i mean)

I wanted my users to access all the reports (if possible) in the web browser and use (only) the BEx browser as their interface.

I imagine I could still add a link in the browser by manually adding an internet address (if i knew the full URL for the view, which is not the case).

Anyway, this is not a very good solution, since i want the users to create their own views and afterwards, have them in their browser.

I am sorry, i'm quite new to BIW and i'm not familiar with the different tools yet.

Thanks a lot for your help,

Which version of BW are you using? With BW 3.5 the default template (0ANALYZER) has the options to save views.

To save views from web you can also use the command CMD=SAVE_VIEW see attached documentation for the same.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2f/2a813b731fd60ee10000000a114084/content.htm

You can access the saved views from the Browser by adding the parameter DATA_PROVIDER_ID=<view name>.

If you are just looking for an option to save the navigation state of a BW query in BW Web try using the BW Bookmarks. With this option you do not have to use BEx for saving the navigation state. See documentation.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2e/23813b731fd60ee10000000a114084/content.htm

You also have the possibility of saving the Bookmarks to BW roles so that the user does not have remember the whole URL or save it to the IE favorites, it will stored directly in the BW system, you can provide an interface as one given below for the same.

Thanks.
