Hi there,
Can anyone help me to start up with Profit Center Planning in BPS. Any feedback, screen shots, documentation will be highly appreciated.
I started to build a basic model for rolling forecast planning using the account based method but it seems I am not successful.
I used the following characteristics:
COMP_CODE
PROFIT_CTR
COSTCENTER
ACCOUNT
FISCYEAR
FISCPER3
CURRENCY
VERSION
The keyfigure:
AMOUNT
I hope someone can help me. This is my first BPS project and to build this basic model will mean a lot.
Thank you in advanced
Sheila
Hi Sheila,
First of all you need to create variables for some of the characteristics to limit the selection and make for an efficient layout.
And then the actual layout design depends on what the users will be doing. One of the easiest ones is to provide them with a blank template that they can input directly onto or simply copy and paste from their 'working' spreadsheet.
For example you can have a manual planning layout with key figures in Data Columns. In additional setting you can set Fisc Year (Variable) as dynamic.
You have to decide what char you want in the header, lead columns and what you want in the data columns. Try that and good luck.

Hi Sheila,
there are plenty of planning applications that are delivered as content for SEM-BPS. Have a look a the online help: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sem60/helpdata/en/65/6bf7a9a5b411d4b3220050dadfb23f/frameset.htm
There are also InfoCubes included that you can use as a starting point for your models.

Marc
