Hi,
I am using the decision step type to display release and reject the options to the approver . i am using the latest end tab to escalate( forward) the workitem to next available approver .( deadline monitoring 30 min) .
workitem is generating in the 2nd available approver inbox after 30 min . but the same workitem is still available in the 1st approver inbox ( of course it display the message the following deadline was missed and latest end reached) .
But even after the 2nd approver gets the workitem in his inbox ,the 1st approver is able to execute the same workitem by ignoring the message .
Please can any one explain me what is reason behind this.
Please can any one helping me how can i delete the workitem in the 1st approver inbox once the workitem is created in the 2nd approver inbox .
Just follow the steps
1)You can use Latest End Tab in a Step which is attached to a task. Use Modelled deadline. Using this another branch is created from the step.
2)Activate the Outcome Processing obsolete for the Step that needs to be sent to the Manager.
3) Now put a process control in the branch that has been created due to modelled deadline. Use "Set Workitem to Obsolete" in the Function and provide the Step number in which the deadline step is incorporated.
4) Now create another step at the branch Processing obsolete of the step that has the deadline and copy the above step with deadline removing the deadline part. This step is only for 2nd approver.

Hi Arghadip Kat ,
present implementation : i am using the first decisions step for the 1st approver .
i have used latest end tab : ref time : workitem creation. action : modeled. and outcome latest end reached . so the decision has created one more branch along with release and reject .
now by using the latest end reached i have again given option for reject and release for the approver2 using the decision step type .
Now can u please explain me the process to achieve the functionality so that the workitem should not be available to approver 1 if the deadline is passed.
i got ur steps but last sentence is confusing.....
In the outcome latest end reached you create a Process Control Step Use "Set Workitem to Obsolete" in the Function and provide the Step number in which the deadline(1st Approver) step is incorporated. Make sure in the Decision Step of the 1st Approver the Outcome "Processing obsolete" is activated. Once this is activated another branch will be produced.
Now in the Processing Obsolete branch create the 2nd approval step. The process control will make the Workitem to be set as Obsolete.

Hi praveen,
Activate the processing obsolete option in the outcomes tab, this will solve your problem.

Hi ,
i have activated the processing obsolete option in the outcomes tab . workflow has created another branch. but still workitem stays in the inbox of the first approver .
i have totally two decision step types . after i am using the latest end tab in the decision for the 1 st approver . one more branch with latest end reached is created, using that branch i am sending the mail and again i am using the one more decision step type for the 2nd approver .
now my requirement is workitem should not appear in the inbox of the 1st approver once deadline is passed to 2 nd approver.
regards
pavee
