Hi all,
I would like to start "playing" with the new toys, i.e. Netweaver Developer studio and, more specifically, web dynpros.
However, i have found a few differences concerning the prerequisites for the installation of the dev. studio. In the help.sap.com site it says that one needs a WAS 6.3 but in the download section in this site there's a WAS 6.2 offered with Netweaver dev. studio.
Is the download from this site enough or should i contact the SAP representative and ask for a WAS 6.3?
thanks in advance,
Amit Levavi
hi amit,
it is better to have the following "j2sdk-1_4_2_06-windows-i586-p" installed in your machine. And in environment variables set jave_home as your jdk installed path.

Hi,
Check the below link for details bout Netweaver developer studio.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/cb/f4bc3d42f46c33e10000000a11405a/frameset.htm
Regarding JDK version I suggest you to go for JSDK1.4 or JDK1.3. While installing the studio you may have to give the path of JSDK for setting it.
If you are satisfied with the answer , please close the thread.

Guru

Hello Amit,
The download you find on SDN is enough, it comes with the Web AS and the appropriate development environment - the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio including the Web Dynpro perspective.
Have fun with the "Sneak Preview"!
Best regards,
Karin

Hi Karin,
Can I have more information of the prerequisite on SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio? I have installed WAS and studio in 2 different PC (one as server and one as developer workstation). May I know whether I need to install the JDK (which version?) at the developer PC?
Thanks in advance!
Esther
