Possible to run win32 .net2 application with CR 11.5.37 on a i64 machine?

Hi Guys,

I'm in a lot of trouble with this one. My application which runs fine on x86 machines needs to be installed on a win 2008 x64 machine. It doesn't work! It says that the CR runtime could be wrong.

Is there a way to get 11.5.37 or 10.2 working on a x64 win 2008 server?

The option to recode my application is a last resort. It's coded via VS .net 2005. I worry that I will have ti install VS 2008 to get this to work on the x64 machine?

Please help me, Thanks.

Hi Billy,

CR 11 is not supported on WIn2008.

For more info you can go through [this|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=56787567]

There are 64 bit runtime for CR10.2 which can be downloaded from [here|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm]

Also you may want to take a look at [Crystal Reports Support of 64-bit Operating Systems|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/10d5fa88-2013-2c10-c9a5-f11963607d4e].

Thanks,

Saurabh

Saurabh provided very good info. One thing to be very aware of. While CR 10.2 does have 64 bit runtime, it is not supported on WIN 2008. You can try but if it does not work you will most likely mot receive any pointers on these forums...

CR 10.5 (bundles with .NET 2008) does support Win 2008. BUT, running report created in a higher version with version 10.x is a tricky proposition. Parameter prompting is different as is the way the reports print and more. E.g.; simple reports should work, but as you get more and more complicated reports, you will run into issues.

CRVS2010 currently in [Beta|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/20322] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]; is 32 and 64 bit and supports WIN 2008. But this version only works / will work with .NET 2010.

So to summarize:

CR10.2 - not supported on WIN 2008

CR10.5 - supported on WIN 2008, but is only available in .NET 2008 and running higher version reports is not advisable

CRVS2010 - supported on WIN 2008. Will run all reports (with the exception of those that use MapInfo). Only works with .NET 2010

Thanks very much for your help on this one guys!

I tried 10.2 but as Ludek mentioned it didn't go well.

I guess it's time to upgrade my development system to VS.2008 and get my programming hat on for getting this to work with the latest CR.

Can you tell me in the latest CR behaves in pretty much the same way? i.e. will i need to change the parameters i pass to crystalreports.displayreport() ?

If I have to recode everything then I'm going to have to give some thought as to wether I wish to stay with CR. It has been nothing but stress for me these last few years

No changes to code should be needed.
