Portal User-Role Mapping in LDAP

Hi All,

Is it possible to store the Portal User and Role mapping within LDAP? I understand that we can keep the UserName and Group on LDAP and use it as a data source. However, is it possible to build the user-role mapping in LDAP as well for Portal?

Hi,

Yes, it is possible to store users in LDAP and have role mapping in LDAP.

Check below link for IBM TAM LDAP and SAP Potal configuration,

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/ad84a55a-0601-0010-749b-85476a903...

Thanks.

Sushil.

Hi,

Administer the users in ABAP and do role assignment there. It is the safest place to do user/role assignment and there will always be more SAP roles than there are user groups.

Then use the user/role assignment to update user/group assignment in the LDAP. This will require some custom development, but it is fairly straight forward and normally just means building an LDIF file.
