Portal User Authentication from LDAP server.

Dear All,

We have a unique problem in hand.

Our requirement is that we use the LDAP to authenticate the user since the data sources are on LDAP.

User Id is mapped to R/3 so as to run our services.

Now the complication here is that we require a mechanism so as to verify the logon credentials on the portal from the LDAP server.

We would highly appreciate if developers who have faced this issue on their systems can provide us with the required guidance as to what applications or scripts can be run so as to achieve our goal.

Please do help us as soon as possible.

Hi Soumyadeep Ghosh

I don't see here complication. You can "connect" LDAP and Portal and after "connecting" you can logon to Portal use LDAP account. Setup this "connect" is very easy.

Go to System Administration > System Configuration > UME Configuration. Chose Data Sources and inside chose type data source (for Portal flat hierachy recomended).Chose LDAP Server and setup there Server name and server port (usually it's domain contriller), create system user in LDAP ( In my case it's Active Directory) and write user name and password. After that you should write User Path and Group Path (In Active Directory it's distinguishedName, you can see it use program ADSI Edit or ask your Windows System Administrators if you have Windows platform),click on check box Use Unique Attribute for UME Unique ID and enter samaccount name. Save changes and restart Portal.

Regards,

Dmitriy
