Please advise on which is the Standard API available to recall from SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning to write the budget on the budget availability control tables for the WBS (BPJA and BPGE) on S/4HANA RISE Private Cloud.

If Standard API is not available which of the below solution is advisable?

1. Write first from SAC to ACDOCP leveraging SAC standard export to S/4HANA through SAC Data Management and then move the data to BPJA e BPGE in S/4

2. Recall a custom API from SAC and leverage an existing FM (RFC KBPP_EXTERN_UPDATE_CO) to write on BPJA e BPGE in S/4.

Thank you!

Giorgio

Dear @GiorgioDep,

to make use of the Budget Availability Control, you can either use SAP Analytics Cloud or the Import Financial Plan Data app.
Please have a look at our documentation Integration with Budget Availability Control
where we explain how to maintain categories for the Budget Availability Control and Budget Checks and how you can upload your data into your S/4HANA system.

Please let me know if this answers your question.

Best regards
Susanne

Hello Susanne, thank you very much for getting back. I had seen the linked documentation, only it is very focus on Budget Availability Control for the Cost Center. For the Cost center, I understand SAC would write on the ACDOCP and Budget Availability Control would be able to read the Budget on the ACDOCP Budget Category once the Actuals are posted on the ACDOCA. However, would the same approach work for the WBS? Finally, to write on ACDOCP from SAC, could you confirm that the standard procedure to follow would be the following, https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/48f4b4785b8e45938ac44a67be8032d9/efee7f7a47844876a80... (SAC Data Management). Thank you very much!

Dear @GiorgioDep,

yes, the same approach is working for WBS elements. I confirm that the using the BUDGET01 version should be used for project Budget Availability Control.

Please also have a look at Setting Up Availability Control for your projects.

Hello Susanne, thank you for your feedback. A further clarification, as we are on RISE Private Cloud, is it so that if we use Budget 01 the data is written to the BPJA e BPGE tables? (see below) In the Category Version Mapping section, locate your desired plan category in the Target Category list and select your SAP Analytics Cloud version. To use Budget Availability Control, map your SAP Analytics Cloud version to your designated budget categories. Standard categories are: In SAP S/4HANA Cloud: BUDGET01 for project budgeting BUDGET02 for cost center budgeting In SAP S/4HANA: BUDGET02 for cost center budgeting

Hi @GiorgioDep,

I talked to my colleagues and actually the Budget Availability Control for projects is only available in Public Cloud and not in Private Cloud, as the customizing is different in both systems.

Best regards
Susanne

Hello Susanne, thank you for getting back, good to know. Based on this information we should consider the original scenarios (which i paste below). We looked for a Standard API to leverage for this but could not find one. Is that something that can be confirmed? Alternatively how would SAC be able to recall an custom API? or would option 1 be the most advisable solution? Thank you very much for the support. If Standard API is not available which of the below solution is advisable? 1. Write first from SAC to ACDOCP leveraging SAC standard export to S/4HANA through SAC Data Management and then move the data to BPJA e BPGE in S/4 2. Recall a custom API from SAC and leverage an existing FM (RFC KBPP_EXTERN_UPDATE_CO) to write on BPJA e BPGE in S/4.

Dear @GiorgioDep,

this is the answer I received from my colleagues from Project Management:
For Project System the classical budgeting and budget availability control functions are available.
A budget availability control based on ACDOCP similar to the classical budget availability control is currently not available for projects.

To my understanding there are no APIs for BPJA e BPGE, but maybe  RFC KBPP_EXTERN_UPDATE_CO could be evaluated (https://me.sap.com/notes/625613).

Alternative you can also copy data from ACDOCP into classical CO-tables and then use IMCCP3 to transfer the data to budget. However, this certainly requires various copy steps and would not reflect e.g. any changes done to the budget in CJ30 or supplements, returns, transfers back in ACDOCP.

Best regards
Susanne
