Hi,

Technical routing involves the definition of the communication channels, adapters, etc.

From a general point of view, whenever you talk about logical routing as such, it deals with the security and authentication aspect. By mentioning the business sytems/services for the interface, you are clearly telling, which client and logical system name XI should talk to, to either send or receive data..

.and technical routing involves exactly how the data will be sent or received.

Routing is one of the steps of the pipeline process.

Pipeline steps

It is part of the XI runtime and the message flow.

1) Receiver Determination: Determines the system that participates in the exchange of the message.

2) Interface Determination: For each receiver determine which interface will should receieve the message.

3) Message Split: If more than one receievers are found, Xi will instantiate new message for each receiver.

4) Message Mapping: Mapping to transform the source message to destination message format.

5) Technical Routing: Bind a specific destination and protocol to the message.

6) Call Adapter: Send the transformed message to the adapter or a proxy.

Thanks

Hi,

Technical Routing: Bind a specific destination and protocol to the message.

Routing defines how the messages flow via XI (where to, via what) receiver and interface determinations in directory

Routing are of 2 types

1. Logical Routing

2. Technical Routing

Logical routing involves the definition of business services/systems for your interface.i.e we difine the flow of messages in a system landscape

Technical routing involves the definition of the communication channels, adapters, etc.

From a general point of view, whenever you talk about logical routing as such, it deals with the security and authentication aspect. Technical routing involves exactly how the data will be sent or received.

Routing is one of the steps of the pipeline process.

well there are a sequence of pipeline steps in XI;

1. Receiver Determination -- Determine who the receiver / receievrs of the message are

2. Interface determination -- determine the Inbound interface and call the mapping to create target structure

3. Message Split -- If multiple receivers, split the message for each receiver

4. Message Mapping

5 .Technical Routing -- Determine the Protocol to be used to send the message to the target system

6 .Call Adapters-- Call the corresponding adapter and pass the message to it.

Hi,

After creating the logical receivers in Receiver Determination, They must be know the technical details of the receivers.

give the sender & Receiver services and message interfaces for the receiver services communication channel can be determined from the receiver determination.

Technical Routing -> It means the stpes used my XI to route the data to actual receiver.

In a pipeline XI will use Receiver Determination, Interface deteremination and then receiver agreement to find the actual receiver. It will use all the technical details mentioned in adapter in Receiver agreement.

You can better serach SDn for more information
