PI with VPN

Using FTP adapter. PI appears to be connecting. The application on the remote server sends its internal IP address back to PI. This not being the IP address PI used to connect, PI drops the connection.

I have tried using strictHostnameChecking with its value set to false, still does not work.

I have tried active and passive modes, still does not work.

I gave up and went to a solution using a Linux script executing lftp but I'm still wondering if there is a way to tell PI to ignore the IP address sent back from the remote server?

Hi Perry,

There must be firewall on side of remote server which is causing this camouflage of return of different remote address. The solution lies in firewall or applications in target server.

Hi Perry DuBard,

It would appear that the remote server is having the PI server details maintained somewhere which needs also to be updated accordingly. If it was being a GTS system or similar SAP-ABAP system, I would recommend to check the the RFC used in SXMB_ADMIN.

Also, if possible, please check the remote server /etc/hosts entries & try a ping test with using the PI-Server hostname & check which IP it resolves. It can get you a better understanding to cope-up with the situation

Also, Please check the channels in PI for incoming receiver

I don't have access to the remote server. As far as firewall configuration, the remote server internal address is making the trip back to PI. PI is then dropping the connection.

So, no way to tell PI to ignore the difference in IP addresses?
