Personalzation for Groups visibel

Hello *,

Is it possible to personalize via personalization functionality one page with two iViews for all Users as an Administrator. So the administrator should be able to set one iView visible or two iViews visible or no iView visible in that page to visible or not? Is there a way to use the personalization functionality for such an administrative scenario? Any solution?

Regards Ingo

Personalization is never meant for ALL Users. Thats violation of the basic essence of Personalization - as it should always be user specific.

If in your case the Administrator know how the page needs to behave to ALL USERS then better design the page in that way itself. Via personalization it wont be possible.

Is there a way with "Mass Property Change" ? or PCD Inspectors?

Hi all,

let's clarify this a bit:

In essence what is wanted/needed is the possibility to hide one of the iViews for all users and then display the second one instead. The first iView is an URL iView for some backend integration and the second one would be used as a ressource unavailable message.

We want to use this in case a backend system for the first iView undergoes some maintenance. In this case the second iView would show a message with a picture saying that the backend system is currently unavailable and when it might be back online again.

So our first thought was to use the hide parameter of the iView to switch back and forth between the two iViews.

As I understand this seems not possible as the option comes from the personalization area - so question is:

Is there another way to achieve above said scenario???

Hello Christian,

You can open the page and simply make the iview visible/invisible. That will take effect for all the users.

Hello Ingo,

Make your requirement more clear.

Your requirement can be met by some other way but not personalize option. A Administrator cannot personalize for other user. That violates the basic concept of personalization.
